Saying "I Do" Not to Children
It’s wedding season, so if you've been invited to a wedding ceremony and reception with your children, there are many issues to take into account before accepting:

  • Do your kids have something appropriate to wear or will acceptance require purchasing a costly ensemble?
  • Can they remain quiet for the duration of a ceremony?
  • Where will they be seated during the reception?
  • What if they become tired and want to go home before the event is over?
  • How do your children handle crowds and loud music?

Unless your children are family and a critical part of the festivities, if you’re not sure of the answers to some of these questions, it’s perfectly fine to leave them at home -- the bride and groom won’t be offended. For more questions about wedding etiquette or wedding planning in general, go to the free service, www.GettingMarriedonLongIsland.com
